Field Recordings Neverland Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Grape – Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Cabernet Franc
Where – Santa Barbara Country, USA
What – After many years working and exploring Central Coast vineyards, Andrew Jones developed an interest in intriguing, often overlooked vineyards. Maybe too wild, or too rocky – where many saw problems, he saw potential!
He sources small quantities of grapes with a real focus on quality. His wines are always a damn dream and scream their own unique terroir. The Neverland Cabernet Sauvignon has spent 10 months in new American Oak and the result is a total crowd-pleasing natural red wine.
There’s a tonne of flavours to be found in this wine, but overall it is soft, plush and velvety. There’s an initial hit of blueberry and blackcurrant before notes of tobacco, kirsch and purple flowers are introduced. It’s so, so good.
Fruity, soft, favourite. Vegan. Low intervention. ABV 14%.
